Calvin Jitsuo Nishioka, 78, of Hilo died May 4 at home. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a retired electrician for the former Close Electric, U.S. Army veteran, Eagle Scout and member of IBEW Local 1186 retirees and Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Visitation 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, 398 Kilauea Ave. Military honors and memorial service at 4:30 p.m. Aloha attire. Survived by children, Chris (Michelle) Nishioka, Scott (Amy) Nishioka, Shane (Shaylyn) Nishioka, Kari Nishioka and Ryan Oato; siblings, Earl (Karen) Nishioka, Arnold (Betsy) Nishioka and Pearl (Bobby) Cox; in-laws, Marcia (Yoshio) Obasa, Karl (Kiyoko) Kawauchi; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
